I just installed a short ram intake in my LC2 and I'm going to get some new piping done for the exhaust. I need to know where is a good place to get exhaust tips and what size to get the piping. Also, should I replace the piping all the way back to the headers?
i got my tip from walmart for about $10. You should get a 2.25 inch piping, if you plan on turbo get 2.5, other than that 2.25 is good enough, and you should get the piping from the cat back.
If I recall correctly the stock pipes on the LC2 are about 1.75" or thereabouts. Personally I'd go with 2.25". If you get a "cat-back" system they should replace the pipes all the way back starting from the manifold since the cat. is mounted on the exhaust manifold to begin with.
Although I'm not sure about you guys in the U.S if you have more than one cat. or not. I only have one cat. on mine and only one o2 sensor which made modding my exhaust fairly painless.
Somehow I've never experienced a CEL at all with all the mods I've applied to my car. Headers, exhaust, chip, etc.
When I got my cat-back done at 2" the first time around, they never touched any sensors because they didn't have to; just cut off the stock pipes and mufflers/resonators from the flex-pipe > back, and replaced them. Took me a while to figure out I only had one o2 sensor on my car...one day I had a good look underneath and saw no 2nd sensor.
Then I got the 4-1 header and whole exhaust piping re-done at 2.25": they simply removed the o2 sensor off the stock manifold and re-attached it to the new header's o2 bung then redid the exhaust piping as before. So I'm still running my stock o2 sensor and it seems to be working fine.
Anyway, I think it's mostly the fact that my Accent has only one o2 sensor and not two like you guys in the northern hemisphere.
Forgive my ignorance to your situation but did you re-attach all your sensors and wiring when you got yours done?
