Trouble getting 93' Started
Hello all. I just finished putting the head back on my 93' Excel. I got everything hooked up correctly, and tried starting it this morning. It seams as though the firing order is wrong. I get it turning over and it seams like it wants to start, but doesn't seam like the ignition timing is correct. I have the Haynes manual, and I know the firing order is 1-3-4-2. I think I might have the distributor in wrong. I put the number one piston at TDC and aligned the crank and cam marks, and put the distributor in with the rotor pointing straight down at the number one mark on the cap. Is the timing incorrect? Should the rotor be pointing straight up? I did take off this little sensor on the underside of the intake manifold that has two small rubber hoses going to it (I figure it has something to do with coolant temp) Could this sensor be the reason it's not starting? I know the cam and crank are perfectly timed also. I'm at my whit's end with it.
