Default super- charging

ive just about got a supercharger in my hot little hands (payed deposit) that came off a 1.6 or 2.0 toyota it has a electric clutch , and i was wondering if any body could tell me a good compression ratio(im thinking 8.5-1)but if some one knows better please let me know i only intend to run a low boost 4-6lbs also ill get a intercooler and blow off valve from "jap imports" ,and also i ve been told to run the throttle body on top of the supercharger to get best results, also ratio of pulley sizes " engine and supercharger" all info is most welcome

You'll have to come up with a new housing, period, to hold the S/C's internals and still be able to clear the other components under the hood, which is good because you can tailor the flow in the most direct path and and change the ratio to better suit your needs. Don't forget to find out how the S/C is lubricated.

Good luck man!

to answer your ? 8.5 or 9 to 1 will be acceptable for your application! You could even use the stock comp but your fuel system better be up to par!
There are more problems running higher comp ratios but it can be done!

Default Re: super- charging

the s/c apears to 300mm long 230mm wide and about 140mm thick ,the excell hasnt got air conditioning so theres a ton of room under the manifold to put the s/c ,i was going to use the air con pulley off a wreck and fabricate new mounts for the s/c on the air cond bolts on the block and put some extra brackets in.
for what ive see on the net running the throttle body on top of the s/c then through an intercooler and then going to where the throttle body used to be was the best rather than the blow through method.
also i checked the lube system out and it is all self contained,i went over to "r.p.w site" and they supercharged a 12 valve motor and said they customize ECU's and fit bigger injectors(turbo ford capri injectors) and run a rising rate fuel pressure regulator .but im still not sure about the standard pistons 9.4:1 ratio
seems a bit high maybe just run very low boost for now .bye the way im still running no
mass air flow senser and this thing is still hooting along thanks for all your help
