Make sure car is off, take out the ecu fuse (thats in the fuse box under the bonet lol), put foot on break till gas released, put fuse back in.... then boot it...or if ya have money BUY a CHIP..its permenant lol

Id honestly reccomend against reseting the ecm on a 1.6 accent for power. I lost time at the track. Same 60ft, same temps, etc. Beta ecms (esp elantras) seem to have that problem. If your resseting to clear a code ignore me. :

I agree...I noticed a slight loss of power after I reset the ECU on my Accent.
And personally, I wouldn't go with Sindrome's method (no offense man) if you still want to reset it. Just disconnect the negative battery terminal, then pump the brake pedal 10-15 times.
