I think it's generally normal to have slightly oily dripoff from your AC...but don't quote me on that. :
And the Kumho's that come standard on Accents suck in wet weather...get used to it. Doesn't matter if they're brand new or not. At least you don't have to deal with driving your Accent in the snow...I live in Chicago, and the combination of a featherlight car and crappy tires makes for a very difficult driving experience.

Default Re: ac question

it is possible that because (sounds like you were in a parking stall) where lots of cars leave an oily residue on the pavment that the water in question ran through this oil and collected the residue making it look oily where it pooled.

A/C Refrigerant is oily by itself to lubricate the compressor etc... but if you had a leak of any kind of stuff would bleed off in a day or less and you would notice your AC not working.

I think it's prob from oil on the ground.

As for the tires I also notice alot of slip when the road is wet, what I plan to do when I get some wheels is get some good summer/rain tires on my new wheels and have a good pair of winter tires on the stock wheels.

Aftermarket tires are usually infinitely better than stock, especially if you get tires specific to the conditions, rain for rain, summer for traction or winter for... well you get the idea.

if you are not into having different sets of tires you can get a good pair of all seasons, normally getting what you pay for.
