Default 2nd-3rd gear grind?

i have a 03 accent and did the tb bypass on it. When i am going from 2nd to 3rd gear at over 4000 rpms it makes a grinding like noise. I heard someone else had this happen to after doing this mod. Any help or ideas why/what could cause this?:ermm:

my '99 GSi does this as well, i just figured the synchros were not spinning up quick enough, or they're starting to wear out.

Redline MT-90 is your best option to try and stop that. Also check the adjustment for the shifting cables. I know a few XDs that had less grind after adjustments where made. Good luck. If the syncro is gone... thats not cheap. (Parts are... labor is not)

How do you adjust the shifter cables?

I used MT-90 and synthetic Lucas Oil Stabilizer. Haven't had a problem for 75,000+ miles.

Question for Gimp.

I know the manual tranny contains just over 2 liters of oil. But how much oil stabiliser did you put in that 2 liters? It's not like I'll put 1 liter of oil stabiliser and 1.5 liter of redline...

It's just over 2 quarts, not 2 liters.

Lucas oil stabilizer pretty much says you can add as much as you want up to even running only the oil stabilizer in gear boxes, recommends 20% to 60% in an engine.

I won't run Lucas Oil Stabilizer though anymore because of this:
