Check out those sites, also you should of said how much you were looking to spend, I don't know if items on these sites are too much.

You could start with intake & exhaust

Welcome to driving a hyundai.
None of us really have that easy of a time finding parts. Unless you drive a tibby. Haha.

I already have a airintake, i was looking to do the exhaust but all the catbacks that i found were for the 1.6...so i just pulled the cat converter and threw on a performance muffler...im looking to spend about 1,000 total on this car.I was thinking about going old school and boring the motor out and doing forged pistons would that be worth it?

I doubt boring out will help as much. The favorite boost to your horses is switching out your engine to the beta 2. 2 liter elantra / tibby engine.

Only minor mods are needed

Yeah dood, 1000 bucks and you can have a 140-160 horsepower 2.0l accent. Yeah. Sweetness. About $800 bucks and some garage time and some decent tools and you can get it done. Thats 200 more bucks on a NOS kit, BBTB and airram intake. Or ecu managment. We need more Beta swapped accents anyways.

The max that you can bore the 1.5/1.6L out to would be 1.7L...so it's utterly pointless.

And how much of a difference would i notice in that motor? I sorta wanted to keep my current 1.5 just to prove it to my wannabe civic friend and my parents that my little 1.5 could be top line... and would that tibby motor fit or would i have to do some stuff to my suspension to hold a larger motor? cause im new to this whole tuner car thing

taking on the motor swap for an up and comer is utterly pointless. you have a slow car just like the rest of us.

basic bolt ons will get you minimal gains, pretty much just making the throttle response better only adding marginally better power.

to make things quicker on an accent takes some creativity and a good base of automotive knowledge.

without the knowledge engine swaps aren't easy, I have a good bit of experience in the automotive business and even I won't do a 2.0 swap. there is too much down time and the wiring is still not easy.

your best bet is to invest in some handling equipment
a bigger rear sway, the best strut/ spring combo(konis with eibach or equivalent) or a full coilover like the ksports and alot stickier tires

it won't be the fastest in a straight line but its handles pretty well. If your just trying to beat a civic in a straight line your out of luck, with the little aftermarket our cars have your better off trying with something else.

those of us that have made the commitment to stick with what we got have done tons of research and developed our own parts or use what little is available to make some pretty kick ass cars, but it takes dedication and money that most aren't willing to put into "un-derserving" cars.

therefore the question is how much effort do you want to put into the crooked H
