Default Stick Shift feels funny

Ok heres the problem. Push in the clutch and It feels like trapped air is in there. Its a hydraulic system on the Canadian Spec Accent GSI LC version. Like the car and would like to get it fixed. The dealer says it maybe the pressure plate. This is my third stick and I have never needed to replace the pressure plate or the Clutch with so few km on it. 70000km. Also doesn't the warranty say 100000km for any major parts would that include the clutch. I don't ride the clutch and the most of the kms are highway. Ok all but 5000km<img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Is the car hard to shift as well, or is your problem just related to the clutch pedal?
I drive a '97 Accent SOHC with 168,000 km and I just had to replace the clutch because the pressure plate and the clutch throw-out lever were cracked. It started to get hard to shift smoothly about two weeks ago, and then quickly progressed to the point on Monday where I couldn't drive the car and had to get it towed to the garage. With the new clutch, the pedal has a LOT more feel to it.

No it shifts like normal hard from third to second but its always been like that even after the tranny got the fix for the bad synchro. It was original a pain to go from 1st to 2nd with out grinding.

Can't help you there, then. Of course, we drive different generations, so your problem and mine may have completely different causes.
In my case, it was hard to shift from any gear to any other gear and eventually got worse, like I said.
Good luck finding out what it is. I like my car too, and I hate it when I don't know what the cause of a problem is. Luckily, I haven't had any really serious trouble.
Hope it's not serious...
C.
