Default intake manifold

is the intake mainfold from an X3, (DOHC) the same one from the LC-LC2 engines?

ok, cool.
second question,

Can an OEM intake manifold be "butchered" for a Supercharger to be fitted? eg, cut off the plenum & attach a S/C, with the TB attached to the S/C.

oh this is awesome! someone else thinking about this idea! I actually put up a post about this maybe a couple weeks ago. Lately I have come up with the new idea to use a turbo instead of a S/C. My idea is to use engine vacumn to drive the turbo rather than exhaust pressure. It should work exactly like a S/C except now you dont have to worry about drive belts. thoughts anynone?

yes its the same... thats why you swap for the allow manifold and plenum when u boosting as the plastic one is prone to crack under high boost

Dont know to be honest.. Im working on a prototype for this it will either be engine driven or vacumn driven but its in the works. My guess is yes because the amount of air coming out of the exhaust has to be at least somewhat proportional to the vacumn. Anybody have a math equation or something to figure this one out?

that's what i thought. cause i have seen a highly boosted accent with a cast IM.

in saying that, would the supercharger kit from Capa, or any X3 for that matter fit? having the IM's the same? maybe the belts wont marry-up but thats no drama (just a longer SC pulley neck, or alternate belts etc).
