Default 2002 Accent Heater controls

Okay, I finished installing my stereo the other day, before I put it in, I could not get the vent to open up for cold air. The control wire's that go to the vents under the dash on the drivers side are hooked up. I had them backwards at first because I couldn't even get the defroster to turn on from feet heat.

I still cannot get the control wire to move the vent from hot to cold. Could my wire just be bent to bad? I tried the adjustment like they list on hmaservice but that didn't work.

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

For the hot to cold. Make sure you gave it enough slack to move the wheels (under the dash) up and down. If not, it'll be fully pushed forward (more than it needs to be) than when you turn the Knob it'll pull back the tension.. but will pull back only so much because you already had excess wires pushing the wheel under the dash.

This is what I do. Unclasp the wire from the black clip under the dash. Just leave it clipped to the white peg. Now... Move your control knob one direction (where it full pushes the wire towards the front of the car and not the back towards the console). Now once its fully pushed towards the front of the car, clip the wire to the black metal retainer clasp.

Let me know if that makes sence

If I remember right, one of those knobs is Electric. So make sure the plug is pushed in all the way. If its the one w/ the plug, check connections than fuses.

Thanks, I'll give that a look Thursday on my day off. Hopefully I can get it fixed, I hate having only heat and no vent.
