Default battery relocation

I was wondering if any have done this yet? I mean like putting the battery to the trunk to make space for the CAI?

It could work...

You would have to make sure that you could vent the H2 gas that is emitted from the battery, also it might destroy your boot interior if some acidic gasses escape...

Also would have to use good quality wire, not as drastic as 8 gauge wire but maybe 10 or 12, to make sure all possible current is transmitted with as little loss as possible...

Or it could be fine and you could have none of the problems i mentioned...

Good luck.

Cheers

yes several of us have done it

make sure you use a high quality battery like optima yellow top/red top to ensure there will be no seepage of acids inside your car

and also use a high quality battery box/Relocation kit

Find a mini trucker. Those guys have to move all kinds of crap. I have several guys that will help with this if you can't find help. But beware it is hard to read and do without illustrations so you may want to research this in a lowrider magazine or something, of course your battery isn't going into youyr bed but same concept. Oh and follow the advice on the battery so that after the job you get your interior screwed up. Drop a mail marcflury@hotmail if you need to and i'll give you some adresses. Good luck and why are you moving it? Just curious.

Yeah yeah i gotcha. I've seen different scoops every where. You know the universal ones that are applied with 3m. Some don't look bad and are pretty inexpensive at pep boys and the like. I wouldn't want to tape anything to my car though, just permanetely put it on and fill it in...you gonna cut into the hood then? Hmm i thought of that once but i got too many other things im trying to do.
Aesthetically speaking it would probably look good if done right. I am curious though how much of a benefit you would get scooping the air into the eng. bay directly over the CAI. Would probably still end up 80% form 20 % function. Unless i'm wrong CAI's usually obtain the air from the inferior area of the bay so running air from the superior seems to be a waste of time. My K&N intake (300$ on my s-10) had a heat shield. What a joke. My 5 dollar short ram intake is 100 times better.
Sounds like a worthwhile and highly original idea though. Go for it. I would rather have an original piece anyhow. My car is MY car. There is not another. Ya know? I bet all the poor people who can't afford much say that lol.
