Default Twin TB for Accents.

Could the Twin Throttle Body Kit offered from CAPA for the X3 fit the LC-LC2 Accents? anyone done it?
From what i have been told, and tried to research the intake manifolds are the same, but i'm not sure on the throttle cables, and the sensors.

Would a system like this need additional tuning? would a SAFC be able to make the appropriate changes (if needed?). From what i think it may run lean on WOT with all the extra air.

other question is, if it dosent fit, what kinda modifications would it take to graft another TB onto the OEM intake manifold?

last question, if this works, would it be better if each TB had it's own intake tract, would it work poorly if they orignated from the same area?

just curious about all the options out there.

X3s finished in 2000...
There are some X3 excells badged as accents but they are X3s that they are trying to sell not LCs

X3 (September 1994-June 2000)

LC (June 2000 - February 2003)

LC2 (2nd half of 2003 till first half 2006)

MC (2nd half 2006 till current)

Alot of people get confused bacause dealers try to sell X3s as accents to the un suspecting public to get rid of their old stock.

Cheers

back to the original question,
Could the Twin Throttle Body Kit offered from CAPA for the X3 fit the LC-LC2 Accents?

does the alloy manifold from the X3 excel / accent bolt up to the LC2 ?
do the fuel rail and injectors from the LC2 bolt up to the holes on the X3 manifold ?

I've heard that using an alloy manifold from an X3 is a used upgrade when turboing your LC2 to prevent the plastic manifold from cracking. can this work ?

I would doubt it. Besides its not really worth the trouble either. Ading a couple psi would give you the same result if not MORE. Really built N/A car got them cause they need it. Hyundais dont. Just port out the heads and the intake manifold and runners and you'll feel a bit of a difference. Its cheeper and a lot less trouble on you as well.

An intake manifold from an X3 with the 1.5l DOHC will fit the later 1.5l and 1.6l DOHC engines. The IM from an X3 with the 1.5l SOHC will fit onto later 1.5l SOHC engines. As far as sensors/cables/vacuum lines you're on your own. I don't have any idea for here much less Australia.

To graft a second TB onto your IM you would need another IM and TB. Cut off the TB and TB flange on the second IM right before the first runner and cut off the end of your original IM beyond the last runner. Put them together and grind to match properly. Then you either plastic weld (or possibly epoxy or ABS cement, try on the extra junk IM to see what works best) your plastic IM's or weld the aluminum IM's together. If you're MAP based all you need to do is link the TB's so that they open together which is easy. If you're MAF based you may need to either convert to MAP or get something that'll double your MAF voltage or find another workaround. One MAF plus bigger injectors might work if you fine tune with a SAFC.

If you give the two TB's their own plenum and two cylinders the current plenum design is ineffective at best. You would be better off to go with ITB's at that point since it's not much harder and would work a lot better and get you way more cool points.
