aka Mulit-Grips...

But yeah...
Afaik its left to loosen the drain plug...
Try tapping it a few times (gently) with a hammer to break up any rust that could be siezing the plug on its threads...
It may help the plug come out easier...

And you might want to get yourself a new plug now...
Also try to use the right size spanner and not a shifter to tighten and loosen bolts on your car it could save you many problem later on...

Cheers

You could always file 2 flats on the nut (im assuming that you havent removed it yet)...
That way your vicegrips have something to hold on to...

But yeah who rounded off your nut was it that dealer??
I have never changed the oil in my car my self (always taken it to the dealer, but im starting to do more and more work on my car my self)) and my drain plug nut isnt in top shape...

Cheers

I would invest in a set of easy out bolt and nut removers. They are the best thing for stripped or rounded off fasteners. They come in a variety of sizes so just get a kit, look like sockets but have a spiral tooth design inside that will cut into the nut and grab hold. They have come in handy for me more than once.

Also get the eazy-out screw extractors...
Cause if you stuff up the out side of the nut you can still drill into the middle of it and use them...

You can get them in a set (about 5-6 easy-outs and 5-6 appropriate drills) would cost about US$60, dont scrimp on these get the best brand/most expensive type...
