so im looking through car domain. and this guy has this accent. with subro turbos or somthin. check out this profile. if anyone knows what and where you can get these let me know. the look pretty sweet. thanks

I asked my engine performance instructor about it, and his answer was "I don't know." He guessed it's probably an electric powered turbo that will only provide a few seconds of additional power at a time, nothing constant. But thats just a guess.

They're exactly what he says they are. They just shoot a bit of compressed air into the intake...not sure how effective they are, though. I imagine if they were real effective and safe, we would know about them.

And a little off-topic, but that Accent is ugly as sin.

well from what ive heard. there big over seas. for the hills and all that. but if they are decent. id love to get some. ive tried looking everywhere, but no info.

Here's the surbo site: SURBO ENGRG SINGAPORE, ORIGINATOR AND MANUFACTURER OF SURBO

It sounds like either:

Complete bull****
95% bull**** with 5% of uselessness
95% bull****, 4% uselessness, and 1% of useful effect at low rpm's

Looks to me like all it might do is raise your idle rpm, if anything at all. If it does work, I'm baffled as to how it would do anything useful.

Looks eerily similar to my colonoscopy photos....
As far as revving and holding sounds like hes just trying to power shift or match shift- i try to do that to pass too lol. On the rare occassions that i pass that is.

I would assume that any kind of 'internals showing' photo would be impossible after installation...

So from what i can gather about it from what he said it basically is a weakas$ turbo that doesnt actually spool, you just use the compressor to blow some compressed air into the subro which 'compresses it' with the spiraling flutes in the internals and then feeds it to the intake...
Giving you a small boost for a short amount of time...
