Default weighted shift knob

does a heavyer shift knob really make a big difference? i am getting a short shift from ebay and thought that would be a good thing to have. so does it make a difference or is it a waste of money?

Default

some people swear by them

The simple answer is yes, they do make a difference due to the laws of physics

what it helps solve is the resistance problem going into gears by increasing the kinetic energy so you don't need to use as much effort & also helps make up for some sloppyness *IE:Some people don't always get it all the way in the gear before popping the clutch. A weighted shift knobs main purpose is to help engage into the gear

With a short shifter, the problem is worse, you sacrifice torque from the longer shifter to gain a shorter faster throw making it more difficult to engage a gear

combined with a short shifter, you'll have considerably effortless short throws

Personally, i could live without it, but wouldn't mind having it either
