Is it possible to make your own custom guage faces?

I've looked online..and they are about $40, when it's all said and done. But, if I can make one for less. I'll go for it, no matter the hassle.

Yeah, do you have photoshop? And a scanner? Grab a pic of your gauges and have fun. Then print and set in place.

nope, and nope.

Well, I do have access to a scanner at my university computer lab.

So, just take apart the guage and pull out the face and scan it?

I tried to do all that, but I couldn't get the original face off (i.e. I couldn't get the d*mn needles off...). How do I get the new face on then?
