Hey anyone having issue with their auto transmission, first I had it struggle to leave first into second when its cold and it only did it once from being out in the cold all night. The dealer found a problem with the trans being low. I hate dealerships i pay them $130 to flush my trans and Im a quart low driving it around for like 20k. Now they said they fixed the problem of shifting, and its better when its warm. Now its cold again and it jumps from 1 into second hard. I hate mits trans, Im glad I have my warranty. 03 Aplha Gt (1.6L DOHC) Anyone else have this problem and what was there solution?

When I had the accent it did the same thing till I changed the trans fluid to royal purple synthetic. No cold shifting problems after that.

I bought this auto 95 accent last year in sept 2006, for 6 months it ran smoothly and I was happy, but since march one problem after the other, now since 2 weeks trany was ocassionally not shifting shifting , but since 4 days its like stuck in the first. I am going to see a transmision mechanic on wednesday , he has a scanner, we will see if anything wrong with the related elctronics.
The dealer replaced the pulse generator solenoids some time ago per the tsb about them for just about all hyundais with automatic transmissions
My 2000 has always had hard kickdowns from 2nd to 1st but i've never had any problems from 1st to 2nd. On occasion it has trouble making up its mind whether to kick down to 3rd on the highway but I attribute that to bad trans logic from the factory.
The hyundai automatics aren't that great, its as simple as that. Mine works fine but its not the smoothest most sophisticated trans in the world. If you take care of them and change your fluid at specified intervals your trans will last for a good long time.

just want to find out but did you check the fluids? It can be as simple as just needing auto tranny fluid.
yes checked the fluid, its clean, light pink, not a trace of dirt in the oil, and also no burnt smell coming from the oil. Tomorrow I will take it to a trans. mechanic, we will see what he says, I will post the result, hope it will be better with trans oil change.
