Default 4g15 wrist pins

how do they come out? do they just press right out? i tried, but couldn't get them out.

they should just press out after you remove the little c clips on each side. two clips per piston. be careful if you are going to reuse your pistons, the are fragile and easy to crack

they are not floating pins, there are no clips. they are pressed directly onto the rod. and i've got new pistons and pins on the way...i just need to reuse the rods.

heat them up a bit and oil them, then press them out

so heat the rod, then press them w/ the rod hot?
i just want to be perfectly clear, before i screw something up.

you could try heating up the pin and then cooling it quickly, then press them, if that doesnt work the heat around the pin on the rod and press it out. dont cool the rod at all, let it cool off on its own

Place the piston in hot water, and then it should come out.

When installing, place the piston and rod in hot water, and slide in the cold piston pin to get your interfece fit.

Maybe you just need a good soild drift and a BFH to get them out.

the shop wants $12 a piece and i don't think i wanna chance bending/twisting a rod.

thats the best decision you could make. take them to a machine shop they are pros

one time i raced a snail with my Tib. he took me off the line but once i caught traction i accidentally ran him over while attempting to pass. i won by default, but since i was obviously catching him to be able to run him over i figured that i would have won anyway.
