Can anyone help me find engine mods for the 1.5 litre dohc engine in this car. I'm not having much luck.

Welcome, its always nice to see another GT on the boards. I contacted www.sharkracing.com they have headers and such for our cars, (you may have to email them though) If you want something cheap you can go to your local Hyundai dealership and pick up the intake cam from a 1.6 DOHC it has a little more lift than our cars does, a cold air intake can be made rather easily out of flexible exhaust pipe and a cone filter. www.unorthodoxracing.com has lightened crank pulleys for us, as a matter of fact Rob (4doorGL) just posted something about a group buy for this part. There is more but it all depends on what you want and how much $$$ you wanna spend

You can take the intake cam from the 1.6 L dohc engine from the LC accent and replace the intake cam from the 1.5, it has a little bit more lift to it and in turn will give you more power

Hey kustom... I remember you talking about this cam thing somewhere else, but I can't remember where it was.

Anyways... you have the intake cam, but what about the exhaust cam? do you know if it would work? would it make any difference? just wondering

Unfortunately when i looked into the exhaust cam i cam to the conclusion that they were the same part number for both engines

thanks guys I am totally new to the mod thing. I have a 1997 Accent, and a 2001 Tiburon. I want to start building up the Accent prior to the Tiburon (still under warranty) not sure if i am ready to lose the warranty quite yet.

another question, is a "short ram intake " or "cold air" I know the cai's usually route to the underside of the car for the forced cold air.

Kustom - Can I get this flexible exhaust pipe anywhere and do you have any diy pointers? what kind of performance improvement can I expect versus buying manufactured?
