Alright, so I just bought myself a 99 accent a few weeks ago, it currently has 66k miles on it and I started noticing some problems (it was used).
Anyways the first problem is with me losing power, let me explain this a bit further. Basically when I wake up in the mourning the car drives great, so I drive it around for about 30 minutes and then I stop at the store for a drink or what ever, when I get back and drive my car it starts jumping, even when my foots not on the clutch or the gas.. My car also sometimes loses its power completely, for instance...
After i get back from the store, I shift into 3rd and with my gas pedal floored, my car is not accelerating, this sometimes happens at gear 2 and 4 also.. I try pumping it, but it wont budge, then out of no where it accelerates like crazy.
that is my first problem, the second concerns the gas amount meter on the dash. This just happened to me for the first time last week, when I was about 1/2 way through my gas tank, my meter was showing the amount left normally, so it was at the 1/2 mark, but out of no where the just went all the way to EMPTY, and my car started acting out, so I went to the nearest gas station and pumped in gas, but I noticed the gas tank wasnt empty, because it only pumped 5 gallons less than it usually takes to fill it up...
The only thing I can think of is the fuel injector filter, it might clog up when I rest the car for a few minutes after a drive, making it able to lose power.
Well these are some of my problems I am currently having, I would really appreciate your help..
Thanks,
John

first, is your check engine light on?
if it is than make sure you get it scanned to see what codes you have, this will tell you a lot
Second, when was the last time you did any maintenance like plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter?
if you haven't done any in the past 20-30 thousand miles then address this.
Third, if you don't have a check engine light on and you have your maintenance caught up, check for vacuum leaks around your intake tubing after the mass air flow sensor, and check your vacuum lines for cracks where they go into the intake manifold.
Finally, if you don't have any vacuum leaks then you should start testing to make sure your mass air flow sensor is working properly and to see if your getting fuel and spark. I would suspect that if you able to drive it at all that your getting at least some fuel and spark.
I would definately check your mass air flow sensor, the only real way to do this is with a scanner, because you will need to look at fuel trim and maf voltage drop.
If you check the mass air flow sensor and its working then you might have a failing fuel pump assembly, if you have a bad sender that would cause your gauge to stop working but if the pump was failing then you would be getting loss of power and stalling issues.
now get to work

Hmm, alright thats a lot of work, but I'll get on it and no the check engine light isn't on, the car runs normally, it just stalls when I leave the car for a few minutes after a drive.
