Default Timing belt - HELP!

Ok, so I'm following this thread to change my TB on an 03 Accent:

Timing Belt Change Hints and Tricks (Picture Warning!)

Unfortunately the cam shaft moved. It rotated slightly counter-clockwise by itself when the belt was off!

I think that the cam and the crank aren't aligned now.

Here's my questionfor you mechanics:

How do I get the cam and the crank lined up again?

I'll be monitoring this thread if you can help or if you have questions!

TIA!
-Danny

yeah, i marked it but when I took off the old belt the camshaft moved. (it rotated about 4 teeth counter clockwise)

:-(

so i moved it back and installed the new one. I guess I didnt get it lined up right and it idled rough.

i tried to get it lined up but finally gave up and had it towed to the dealer.

So far: bent valve, possible piston damage.

The DIY I was following said that the cam and crank WON'T move by themselves. It's wrong, at least for an Accent.

The whole problem was that I wasn't sure how to put it at TDC on the compression stroke. But I was bored and wanted a challenge.

So if anyone else wants to try please post your results!

Ouch...
My friend did that to his R31 GTSR skyline...
Bent all his valves btu no piston damage luckly...
Only cost him $200 to fix himself...

Sounds like this job is best left to the dealer...

Cheers
