Default Accent Cheap Intake

This item was spoken about before but for a different reason
http://cgi.ebay.ca/01-02-03-04-05-HY...QQcmdZViewItem

I'm not that experienced with car mods and would appreciate any input from those with more experienced. Why is this item so cheap? How is it made differently than those 200$ intakes? Will it **** up my car/have it last 2 days if I put it on? I think I read somewhere that some even installed them. Can you provide some feedbacks on the product quality?

It's just a pipe and a filter. It's so easy to install even a caveman can do it. It wont mess anything up, but just make sure you reset your ECU before installing and then drive really fast or whatever way you want the car to run.

ok, I guess I read a bit more about it.

So if I just have the oem exhaust, would an intake alone help performance? I live in Montreal which has a pretty long winter, so does a cold air intake make that much of a difference than hot air intake? And did anyway try those hot air intakes from eBay?

answer is yes and intakes arent $200....... *takes in deep breath to say this for the 200th time on here* if you go to autozone/pepboys you can get a spectre intake kit for like $20-$30(i got mine a long time ago i cant remember th exact price) and then get a k&n cone filter it's about $45-$70 (depending on which one) cheap easy and a really good quality intake kit....... oh btw get a short ram intake.... not a cold air... accents perform better with a SRI

and dont waste your money on that ebay c!@#.... ANY "performance part" that they are selling for $50- is a rip off

i beg of you to not get a hot air intake... is there even such a thing? engines want cold air... not hot airrrrr. As its cold in montreal theres nice cool air around anyway, which is a good thing. hot air = bad, cold air = good! To my extent of knowledge...

Well the intakes they sell on eBay from the link on top. I just started reading about intaks and everyone in the forum talks about Short Ram Intakes but I read some site http://www.isuzuperformance.com/isup...ch/intake.html that says apparently those intakes don't qualify as SRI and SRI are intakes that use pressure changes from edges of the car to get air into the engine faster. The pictures that everyone posts and pretty much the only one eBay sells according to that site is a hot air intake and is the most common intake

well im not sure if those pod intakes are even legal in my state... western australia... therefore im not taking the risk, but instead im customizing my intake tube (bigger) and using a performance panel air filter, think the K&N. should work a treat. ill post my thoughts of what i do =D
