Default Baby steps for my 96 accent

Ok, so a friend of mine just bought a mildly decked out 96 GTi and made me jealous as his 4 cylander makes louds noises and goes fast and mine can be loud but would do maybe a 24 sec 1/4. So, after a long time about a year, of thinking of things I could do to my car i've finally got the balls to seriously do stuff to it. BUT, as i'm not loaded I want to take it slow. And another major thing in this is I just want my car to be quicker; more fun to drive..., I don't need top speed I just want a quicker car that's more fun to swing around sharp turns.

SOOO, I was trying to find out what I could do to my car and I saw alot of CAI's on ebay and other places but they all say 01 and up. I don't know alot about performance upgrades on imports..., at all. Is there a CAI I can buy for my 96 4 door accent. There's so much room in the engine bay with this little 4 banger that I want to stuff a bunch of things in it to make my car sprint better. What are some other upgrades I could do to my car that are readily available??

Thanks for read and possibley the help!

to get a little more out of your car, just do the normal bolt on's Intake, header, exhaust. For that car people say short ram is the best way to go. try evofusionusa.com and sharkracing.com for more stuff
