Default Fill up problems...

After I put about 2 litres in the tank, the pump shuts off...as though full, then I gotta full up extremely slowly. So today, since it was nice out, we removed the charcoal canister and blew compressed air through every tube and cleaned it out best we could. PUt it all back together, repaired some rust, cleaned all the tubes, and same problem still. Im thinking its the fill vavle inside the tank???? I hope not, I dont want to get into taking the tank off

Any ideas? Thanks!

Nope sounds like you have covered all but the intank issues...

I would say its a problem with the pressure control line/tube (its that little hole in the fuel tank fill port above the fuel input line/tube)...

Cheers

Hmm, I get something similar. If I hold the pump wide open, it shuts off as if full. I have to fill up with my finger under the trigger so it only pumps half as fast. I always just assumed it had something to do with the way the filler pipe is designed.

I had the same issue with my 01 GSi. I thought it was just the splash guard on the gas nozzle sealing too tight against the filler neck. Backed off about an inch and voila, I had no more problems.

Default fill up problems fix

the problem is that the charcole canister has broken up inside the evap system and short the sh#t inside through it.you will need to remove the charcole canister and shake it and see if sh#t falls out.if it does you will need to replace the charcole canister and the dmtl motor.or it could be the overfill valve inside the throat of the tank.remove the fill hose and look inside if the valve is stuck replace it
