Default Rear Knock

My fiance's 2002 hyundai accent has a knock when going over bumps, we took out the spare, jack, lining except the side trim.
Just looking for ideas.

Worn suspension strut possibly...
Does it do it when you go full lock back and forth (driving slowly of course)...

It also might be the rear sway bar if its bushings are a bit worn...

Also could be your exhaust piping bouncing around, if one of the rubber hangers is dead/missing...

Where does it sound from?
Under the car?
In the car?

Cheers

it sounds like its coming from inside the trunk, maybe from a piece of trim? drove next to a wall and couldn't hear the sound coming off the wall when you hit a bump, dosent make the sound rocking back and fourth.

Did you try side to side movement??

My dad had a bung rear strut in his 2006 NF sonata...
Would clunk over bumps and when the centre of gravity of the car moved laterally (left to right)...
Everybody loves warranty...

Yeah I noticed this aswell. When I am going over bumps and around corners its a loud clunk. To me the suspension feels hard, it doesn't have the feel that it did when I first bought it last year. If I'm going around a corner and there is a small bump it feels like ths suspension isn't flowing with the front of the car. It kind of feels like the back end of going left or right when I am going over a bump or around a corner. Its late and I hope that I explained this right.

I apologize for thread jacking

So basically you have just described a loose or worn strut...
Take it to the dealer if its still under warranty...
If its not then look at getting some quotes on it to fix it...

You will either have to replace the strut (good idea to do all at once, keep the old ones as spare just in case, it depend on the mileage you have put on the current suspension parts tho) or they will have to adjust a bolt or something...

Either way that should solve your problem...
