Default Grinds going into 2nd

I recently installed a TWM short shifter (which was really easy to install by the way). after i got it installed i noticed that if i'm flooring it when i shift to 2nd it sometimes grinds a bit but only in 2nd gear. I think it's because my timing is a bit off now that the throw is so much shorter. Anyone have or noticed this issue. Thanks

how long have you had this installed could just be that your not used to the short throw and your not clutch fast enough into that gear.

naw, it's the syncros in the tranny. 2nd gear syncs in the alpha tranny suck! Shift slower

I also grind going into second (beta tranny) after the car has warmed up. Only fix is to replace the 2nd gear syncro.

Try Redline MT-90 in the tranny. It's quick, easy, cheap, and usually helps a lot if not completely eliminating 2nd gear grind.

MT-90 has been used by several people here with success.

Yeah I have the same thing in my 00 LC...
Its the syncros for sure...
Sure you can slam it in and it wont grind but really if it catches or you clutch wrong and you miss changing properly your stuffed if you were racing...
3rd, 4th and 5th (easiest by far I reckon) go in easily...

So maybe we need to do a group buy of 2nd gear syncros...

Cheers
