Default 97 Accent clutch/flywheel replacement

I am need of a new clutch in my Accent, it does not go in gear while running and if I can jam it in it stalls. I am gussing its either the TOB or clutch fingers, there is certainly alot of rattleing going on. I will be getting a whole clutch kit anyways.

What my main question is I was calling around some local shops about doing the install, an 2-3 of them asked if the speedo works, from what I can remember it does. The reason they were asking is beacuse the said the flywheel could be bad. They also said its a special 3 pc flywheel and in the neighborhood of $500-700 for a new one.... Anyone know anything about this?

I never knew there was such a flywheel out there, I have never seen or heard of one until now... Any help would be much appreciated!

I think two places told me that. They said they recently replaced clutches in the accent. They also said the flywheels cannot be resurfaced and there is no aftermarket flywheels available, only from the dealer...

Why don't you just look an an Exedy clutch unit...
I'm pretty sure they come will all you need...
3piece flywheel??
Were they confused??
Did they mean 3pc clutch??

I know that Exedy make an after market clutch for the 1.5/1.6 DOHC LC Accent (PSC stock them)...

And yes you can get after market flywheels...
Well there's an AM lightened flywheel for the LC2 (Medic has one)

Cheers
