Default Debating another accent or other

Hi all,

Im on the fence on wether or not to buy another car (im not trading in my 97 X3 as dealer would not give anything back) and the cars I have been looking at have all been narrowed down to three.

04 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart w/43k
05 Hyundai Accent GT
02-04 (whatever is not 15k + w/tons of miles) Honda Civic SI

No mind you im not for having a ridiculous car payment, haven't had one in YEARS! So this could also be part of me being gunshy again ( anyone remember signing their life away for their first mortgage??? )

The above vehicles would all be used, Ralliart is a one owner deal, Accent GT the same, the Civic's however seem to be in the 80k's mileage wise and around 15k. To me I don't buy into that speech "Dude, it's a honda" and try to sell me a car with 150k miles for 12k dollars...

I love hatchbacks, mabye I just don't want to cave in and grow up and get the sedan. I don't have kids nor will I ever so the sedan seems like a waste to me. I pretty much know what to expect (mabye not) with the new GT, I have so many damn good memories with my X3 I just can't part with it even though it's falling apart around me.

The last bit was to just scrap the idea, buy new tires, new struts, and put another new clutch in it, she's at 180k now, and push it well over the 200k mark. Body wise it's starting to rust the rear arches, and I have a good dent on the drivers door, but it's paid for and cheap. My sharkracing header and exhaust is starting to fall apart hear and there but I can patch that.

So, guys and gals, what do you think, keep, sell, repair? Im open to any and all suggestions, I don't have my mind quite made up yet as I go back and forth on the decision.

Thanks!

Where I live, New Hampshire, USA the scoupe, if your lucky to even find one, has been in someone's trailer park back yard with grass and weeds growing throughout the frame and engine

The mitsu is at a dealership that sells volvo's/mazda/saturn (weird combo)

The accent is at a used car superstore (non hyundai as well)

The honda, well they're gonna be found at mom/pop stores cause I won't swing 16k for the ones at the dealership.

for the quality I would go Hyundai but if you want something with alot of pep and a better sports line go with the Lancer, if you want something that will be good to mod once a part breaks go with the civic as the Civic is cheaper to put aftermarket parts on when it breaks something

personally I would go with the lancer in these options as I don't like that year of accent. but that is just me I would rather see you happy over the decision.

Cjpothier said it just the way i was thinking it. Civic is cheap parts to replace if they break. I would have to say the lancer I test drove the 06 Ralliart when my gf was looking for a car. It's basically mod'd out already tight suspension quick off the line short shifter good sounding intake/exhaust. The only thing is it won't be to good for a long trip as the suspension is noticeably stiffer then most cars.
By the way my gf ended up with a subaru impreza it smokes all those cars lol Good luck on your choice!

Stiff suspension eh? I test drove a few of em, personal preference I guess. I have my X3 all done and went to PA and back, I was very comfortable.

I gave subaru a look, frankly there's just something about them that I just don't like. Then again I have not driven one, mabye I'll give one a shot this weekend.

I don't care if any car I have can smoke another, im a lil bit past all that now at my age
