Default 95 Accent not starting after Fuel Filter change

Today I changed the fuel filter, as instructed Hyundai Service Technology, first I depressurized the fuel line and then removed the filter, there was a little bit spill of gas, after installing the new one, I started the car, but it did not start, also it is also leaking lightly at the bottom where the gas line enters the filter. Now in the instructions at the above site there is nothing mentioned as how to pressureized the fuel line again, I think there should be technique to presurrized the fuel line again, because it was de pressureized at the beggining before reoval of ole filter.

PLease sujjest as soon as possible.

The fuel filter is a bit of a PITA to get at to say the least. Basically keep cranking (off and on) the starter to have the fuel pump start to push fuel back into the system. This will re-pressurize the line and bleed out any air that may have gotten into the system.

Double check your connections, keep them dry and clean, then check again for leaks.

make sure the filter is in the correct direction, make sure you re-connected the pump to it's harness. if the line into the filter is leaking do not attempt to start the car until that is sovled(this could be caused by the filter being installed in the wrong direction).

yea I think thats the common mistake putting it in the wrong direction. They're meant to flow in a certain direction. the filter is prob just dry and will have trouble pushing fuel through until it's soaked up trying to start it on and off for 30 seconds in short bursts should do it. And yea cranking it will re-pressurize the lines for sure.

most fuel filters also come with an arrow or an in and out sign to tell you what way the filter goes so check and see if there are any markings visible with the way you mounted it

Yes I am 200 percent sure that filter is installed in the correctly, it is written in and out, at both ends, and also in the out direction there is bracket to align the outgoing pipe, now can I use teflon tape or something else to stop the light leak at the inlet side, first I will try to stop this small leak by lossening and tightening the filter gain and then I will try thisa cranking method to repressurize the line, I will let you know guys. Thank for the suggestions.

yes, reinstalled the filter, and tighten the nut at the inlet side of the filter at bottom, though the car started, but it is still leaking a bit.

so what I should do about it. I am thinking to go and buy some thread leaking compound or some teflon tape, what ever availabl.

I forget to ask and mention something, now with the new filter I got 2 big O=rings and 1 small o-ring, now when I removed the old filter, I only found 2 big o-rings atthe ourlet side but there was no o-ring at the inlet side, but with the new filter there was one small o-ring also., but I never used it, may be I should try putting it and it will stop the leak. I will try tomorrow. I would like to mention that at the HMAservice site , the procedure for replacing filter is notclear, and there is no clear picture of it too.
