Default Hyundai accent auto

I have a 2000 accent auto transmission, the OD is not working. The OD comes on but then will disengage and seem to go into neutral.if I turn off the OD. then 3rd gear will engage. Im thinking of replacing the tranny. but need to know what years are interchanable.

I would:
1)Check the ground on the OD switch
2)Look into seeing if there's a control module that you could replace for the OD
3)Take it to the dealer

id suggest taking it to advanced auto and scanning the OBD2 port. It will also tell you tranny codes if any are present. next step would be having it diagnosed at the dealer.

I repaired the wires coming from the OD switch on the shifter and checked the oil in the tranny it seems to have excess oil. I should say that I bought ar from a person who was dishonest, he put a sticker to cover the OD off light.Im going to drain the oil from the oil pan and put the required amount.I will take it from follow the sugestion from the members.

the OD went out in my 97. it was a cheap fix at a transmission repair shop..I don't know if its something you've tried or not but I had to replace my wiring harness and some wires.
