get a new engine. the 1.5 isnt worth boosting. swapping in the 2.0L opens alot more possibilities for boost and N/A tuning

i would agree the beta 2 isnt that expensive now days pick them up for about 400 pick up an 03-05 accent ecu for around 100 then rewire a little bit of your harness and custom fab your passanger engine mount it will bolt up to your tranny but you'll need the beta slave cylinder (personaly i would just get a 1.6 or a 2.0 tranny) but hey check out Jsharptooth91's beta swap he's hella good at what he does and on the other pages he shows like the wiring diagram thats going to need to be done ( Hyundai Aftermarket ) cause the 1.5 wiring harness and the 1.6 wiring harness " are " different in a few places with the 1.6 its a direct hook up with everything but check out both the posts he has some good info on there.

I did the swap in a 99 accent using the 1.5 ecu, harness and tranny. direct bolt in even using the 1.5 passenger mount and redrilling a whole for it. some people make things more complicated than they really are. only difference is i used a 2.0L flywheel and 1.6 clutch

well are u running the beta or beta 2 cause the beta is a maf based and beta 2 is a map based and i perfer map over maf not to mention i would rather have my knock sensor knowing those 1.5's dont have one unlike the 2.0's and the 1.6's it all depends on how cheap you want to go all methods work what gets the job done i guess

I had to go beta 2 with the beta 2 ecm and tranny. Ref station would not allow the use of the 1.6 or 1.5 ecm to make it smog legal. Also the 1.5 tranny would not fit the beta 2 block without cutting out a notch in the block to make room for the slave cylinder thingy.
