Hi all
So, my 98 Excel is coming up on it's second timing belt service at 180000KM (currently at 172072KM) and I was wondering how long I could safely leave replacing the belt for? - I drive my car with respect Also I am keen to do the timing belt service myself, anyone here changed a timing belt on an Excel (or similar)? Any advice for me?
Also I am hearing a subtle tapping noise - the speed and pitch of this noise is synchronized with the RPM of the engine. A fella at work said it's probably the tappets - I have a feeler gauge, do you think it would be worth attempting to improve the tappets?
If you have any random advice/information I should know about Excels please share! Keen to learn
Cheers!
