Default Fitting excel induction kit

Hello folks.
Im currently attempting to fit a universal induction kit from K&N, however, there is a wire/lead, coming out of the existing filter box. Basically what shall I do? And what is the wire for? Do I need it?

Thanx for your help.

Its the intake air temperature sensor. You will need to intall it just after the cone filter. A lot of people just slide it up under the rubber grommet so it sits inside the filter.

Cheers. Will I have any problems if I slide it too far or dont slide it far enough? Or can it just be placed anywhere in the hose/filter?

no. the air temperature wont change much within a 10" distance down your intake tube.
it will still run even if its just hanging down in the engine bay (ppl do this to try and sense 'cooler' air some ppl say; which i think is BS) but i dont recommend it at all.
