I own a 1997 accent 1.5 L sohc. i have a loud whining sound all the time....i do have an intake and and exhaust on the car...anyone heard this sound...gets louder with speed...
if it helps, it is a 5 speed....thanx...
WELL, IT IS DEFINATELY UNDER THE HOOD.....I CAN ALSO FEEL THE VIBRATION IN THE SHIFTER WHEN I DOWNSHIFT IN TO 1ST GEAR COMING TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH PUSHED IN....THE NOISE IS LOUD ENOUGH THAT IT IS NOT NORMAL.....
Does the noise subside when you are stopped? Can you feel anything through the clutch at all? I don't know what's wrong, but i'm trying to understand the problem more...
I had a similar sound on my 97 once, i took it in and my mechanic said it was some bearing or clip or somthing with the front wheels that had come loose, he fixed it for like 20 bucks and it hasn't whinned since
