Ok, I know it's expensive. Some people say it's easier to just buy a new car, however I would like to know the approximate cost for converting an '01 Accent GS from auto to manual. If you could also include the basic parts (i.e. tranny, center console, ecu, etc.) required for the swap. Also, if you happen to know whether the tiburon manual tranny bolts up if I were to do a Beta Swap in the process of converting to manual. Thanks for your time and informative responses.

I went to a buddy of mine which owns a tranny shop, I have an auto 95 accent and my tranny is going.. i was told that this would cost over over 3000 - 4000 maybe even you need so many parts.. you need to find every cable, nut, bolt, connecter, etc and if i remember correctly over 30-60 hours of labour involved because a lot of moddification must be done... it's prolly cheaper to buy a new car.. good luch

Talk with Skierd...he knows a good amount about tranny swaps....he's done one himself in a Tibby I believe...
I talked with him before about it. If you were to manage doing your own labor, you might possibly get it done for under $1K...again, I'm no expert.

my experience is with an x3, but you need:
tranny and mounts
flywheel
clutch master and slave cyinders
clutch and brake pedals
axles
shifter and cables
(almost forgot) starter motor
jack stands, a couple of jacks, the usual assortment of basic tools and a couple of friends to help you out
you'll have to cut some holes in the firewall and do a little wiring work, spend a lot of time on your back looking up at parts of your car you usually don't see, it's also a good time to clean out your engine bay
it cost me around $700 with salvage yard parts and a new clutch
