Default strutin and swayin

What is the difference between a strut bar and a sway bar if there is one? Sorry about the subject of this question it probably sounds like an old dance that your parents told you about. (that was pretty bad wasn't it?) Seriously though could someone turn the lights on for me here?

I prefer to take the road less traveled......but now where the hell am I?

"Strut bars" should be called "Strut Braces". They brace the tops of the strut towers together to limit chassis flex. They are a minor, but noticable improvment to handling. They do not elimate chassis flex, they just limit it. Your strut towers cannot do this / or this / with a strut brace, but they can still do this / / or .

Sway-bars or "anti-sway bars" go UNDER the car. They work as a "lever" to prevent body roll. The more one side of the car goes down, the harder it pushes down on the other side to keep that side from going up, and vice versa. It sounds rather complicated, but they are really rather simple devices. They make a MAJOR improvment in handling, and should elimate about 50% to 75% of your body roll going through corners.

One prob that u gotta watch with sway bars is that if u hit a corner really fast u'd better be confident in u'r ability and DO NOT touch the brake because once u touch the brake it throws the balance of the bar all off and u'r car will go into a donut frenzie or u'll just slide off the road. This happened to me and my friend in his Civic. He totalled his car the day he but the sway bars on cause he didnt know how to use them. I advise getting very used to the bars b4 u go do nething crazy with them.

Not ALL cars have them stock, but the Tibbies do. Some cars only have a rear sway bar.

The aftermarket units are "stiffer". This means they are also "thicker".
