Default first car...

well, im only 14, but im already seriously trying to decide what to get for a first car, some of you on here have probably seen me talking about it a bit, i was thinking of getting an accent, but now i think ive changed my mind and i want a seat arosa, i wanted to be loyal to hyundai, but i just think it would be alot cheaper to run and seeing as it is such a light car i wont have to do much to it to make it go fast, plus i dont really love the accents looks but i love the arosa's front.

SOOOOO.. to help me make up my mind can u tell me whats good about accents and il post on the seat forums and see which comes out better!

Well, check the final standings in WRC and see who's doing better, Seat or Hyundai.

We dont get Seat's here in the US, but I do know I like my accent a lot. I've got the 1.6L DOHC, comparable to you 1.5L DOHC, and a 5spd. This car moves pretty quick for its weak hp numbers. I can cruise at 80-90mph all day with no problems. Stock handling blows wet hairy donkey nuts, but simply adding a front strut tower bar and an eibach pro-kit helped a LOT. The car now hugs the road. The new tires I got (Firestone Firehawk SS20's in 175-70-13) helped a lot too, but so far the springs are the best thing i've done to my car.

Get an 01-02 accent you wont be dissapointed. Im not sure if you'd like the new 03 stylings, if you hurry you might still be able to find the lc accents on some dealer lots.

Well, since we don't get Seat in the US, it is realy hard to copare and I am only going off what I read. I am not realy a big fan of the styling.

Which seat model of the Arosa are you camparing the Accent to? It has a wide range of engines that range from 50hp to 100hp.

Well, you have a couple years to decide and who knows what will be out then.

Here is a little info on the Seat Arosa and other Seat models for the rest of you US peeps.

Arosa

I kind of like the styling of the Leon

Leon looks like a cross between a BMW and a Saab, while the Arosa looks like an upstyled Ford Festiva
go with the Accent LC or X3, either way; they are suprisingly comfortable(as long as you don't get the base model) and the styling really grows on you

The Leon looks like a 4 door VW Corrado to me.

Just FYI, in case anyone doesn't already know this: Seat is VW's Spanish(?) subsidiary. The cars share engines, drivetrains and chassis with various VW models (European spec, of course).

Autobot im thinking of the 1.4 16v arosa, its faster than any of the accent range, getting 0-62 in 10 seconds flat with a maximum speed of 117mph, not bad for what it is, plus its much cheaper on insurance, so ive decided its the better all rounder for me, i love hyundai's but it just comes out better in all areas really, they are made for 2 completely different markets but im looking for something quick, that has alot of parts available for it, and something that i like the looks of, and i really love the arosa's front, so i guess il have to wait til the day i can afford a coupe/tib to own a hyundai, that will be the best day of my life
