Default (Honda) is to (Acura) as (Hyundai) is to (???????) ?

Today I read something about Hyundai coming out with an upper class car line as Infinity is to Nissan.

Sounds kind of suspect to me.

Anyone hear anything about this?

i have not heard anything about this nor do i think it would work. nissan is regarded as a good company and infinity's are just higher class nissans people buy hyundais to get a reliable car for a reasonable price. people are not going to want to buy a high class car from a company that does not really have a name for making that kind of car. maybe sometime in the future when they build their name up (if they stay on the track they are on they are deffinatley on the way to doing it though) but not very soon something like this would be possible.

(not to dog hyundai but i hope you all know what i mean or am trying to say)

Yes, there are rumors that this is going to happen. I do not know how close it is to happening but I would bet it will be in our lifetime.

hmmm in the article they say that there are no plans to bring the lux. models to america and i didnt see anything at the auto show so i bet it will be a while before it happens in the states. (of course it will happen in our lifetime AUTOBOT if not then hyndai will never be able to compete with the current market) what they need to do is jump on the hydrogen bandwagon because when those engines come out hyundai is going to get left in the dust.

drive by wire and hydrogen engines is where the future of automobiles is at

I don't think it's really a problem with people comparing the two brands. Most people I know don't know that Acuras are Hondas and Infinities are Nissans. They just don't realize it. Sure, tuners would know, and car enthusiasts would know, but I'm sure my dickhead boss doesn't know that his Lexus is made by Toyota. People are stupid. I think with decent marketing and nice designs, Hyundai could do quite well competing against Infinity and Lexus. Hell, Infinity came out of no where in the last couple years to making the G35 a better car than the BMW 3-series, and for 5k-7k less too.

Kia is supposed to be the lesser line of cars, and Hyundai is supposed to be the better line of cars. This is word of mouth from the salesman that sold me my car.
