Wytch... you mean for the trim level? Mine's a 1 for "base" even though mine wasn't technically base model. :ermm:

our numeric system may be slightly different in canada.... but .... wouldn't the safety one be the 7th digit? :ermm:

Checked my car's VIN no. It is as follows

Wierd. I bought my car in 1998 brand new. Now I know it was a 1997 model. And my engine type according to the Encoder is 1596 DOHC 4-cyl Elantra 92-95. It's not. I guess the 1.6 Beta sheres the same code as this. And my check digit is P? WTF?
