Default Getting a new car... no more elantra

well..i am most likely about to get a new car. my options are a GTI and a Tibby V6. i dont really want to leave the hyundai crowd and the GTI is a lil too much so i hope i end up with the tibby. I love my elantra but its an automatic and i would really like a stick. plus its having some problems of late. too bad i have a bunch of crap on it. its a lot to take off so some of it will be for sale here soon if i get a new one. is the 03' 2.0L tibby have enough power to beat civics and integras?? what about the V6? sigh..i have a lot to think about...:ermm:
even if i do get something besides a hyundai, i wont leave this site. you have all been so nice and Extremely helpful! and i would love to continue helping as much as i can myself.:rambo:

Although I really like Volkswagens I would avoid buying them. They seem to have an awful lot of problems and are expensive not only to buy but also to maintain. Get yourself the new tibby. In four cylinder guise it does not seem to have that much power but there are tons of mods available for it plus the beta responds well to boost. The v6 supposedly has weak internals and cannot handle more than 250 hp at the wheels. However, with just basic modifications such as intake and exhaust the v6 is pretty quick. Maybe fast enough to beat integras and civics.

There you go. The V6 responds well to bolt ons.. (same as strap ons?) but once you want to get away from that.. forget it. For ultimate power, you need to go with the intiatially weaker four and just build it way up with boost.

However, the price differences between a four cylinder tib and a Six.. you can afford the turbo.. and for the price between the four cylnder tib and a GTi.. you can make a LOT of power and still look VERY cool while doing it.

if i could afford the subaru i would get it but HA! like i can afford it..lets not forget i'm 19... my other option besides the 2 tibs the is the Nissan Sentra SE-R SPEC V. its the cheapest car and has the best monthly insurance so far. worst warrenty (good car???) good power out of a N/A 4 cyl. (170hp, 180lbs-ft torque) so far that one is winning. today after school i'm going to go look at them.. please give me your opinions and facts that you know about the pros and cons of all these cars, yet again you all prove to be soo helpful! thank you..i mean it.8D

P.S. how does the I4 tibby move? is it still pretty quick off the line..i guess it wouldnt be that powerful with a 2.0L 135hp:ermm: give me your stories on kills with the I4 and ur opinions in its power..

well i went to all the car dealers yesterday and the only one willing to work with me was Volkwagen:ermm: i'd be sooo sad to not have a hyundai anymore..but atleast i'd have a turbo...

VW would get me in the first time buyers program. low %APR (around 2.9), MSRP for the car (17.1k) and a 60month term. my car traded was worth 2.4k cuz he went for blue book value of my car (also the GTI would be blue book because they are not allowed to make profit under the first time buyer program) Unfortunately i have to have been on the job for atleast one year, i'm only 8months in. so i have to wait untill febuary... oh well...but i will never be leaving this forum if that ok..i will always love hyundais (all this considering I Do actually get the GTI) and i will always be pro hyundai performance and helpin' out. Is it worth it to wait for this program?? what do you think? anyways...L8 8D :rambo:

the only REAL recent issue i know with veedubs was a coilpack issue on 1.8t's and maybe vr6's ; they had a recall and i believe everything has been fixed
the only reason the parts are more expensive is because they are built by BIG companies; its pretty unfair to compare the two cars just because companies like neuspeed dont sell as cheap as kore
all im gonna say is if you get a 1.8t, its going to be VERY easy to tune; however you dont get 10 year insurance; one can argue the quality of cars but on the hyundai its GUARANTEED
gti's arent terribly fast either, they are quite heavy but like i said , the 1.8t easy to tune; 500 dollar chip will get you 240 wheel torque which id say is an easy fix
if i had the money, i would just but a TDI and have fun with that until i could afford a project car

if your look to have some money left over for insurance, i would wait and for hyundai to sell vvt elantras 5 speeds, i think that would rock... then you can come on the boards and talk trash about your new beta :
