Default Should Hyundai Have a Performance Division?

Many Complain That Hyundai car's don't have Enough Steam.
it's BETA inline-4 and it's DELTA V6 Could Have Big Potentials,
so what should i suggest?
Develop a Perofrmance Division and maybe Hyundai Could Be a Player in the Battle for the Imports.

Imagine what the Tiburon could be transformed into when hyundai Make's Hop-up's for the Tibby and all their car line-up
Shark Racing's products are neat, not to mention the ever popular min-garage kit
A Tiburon with the SC-2 Body kit doesn't even look like a hyundai, but a european exotic.

Toyota Has it's TRD
Honda Has it's MUGEN
Mazda has it's MAZDASPEED
and Nissan Has it's NISMO
How about Hyundai for HYUNDAISPEED?

Don't You Think?

hyundai has a stereotype for cars with no "go" and are crappy in build quality and stuff so calling it "hyundai speed" would be an oxymoron to most tuners who dont own a hyundai. if they called it something totally not associated with the word hyundai then id say go for it.

Which is a shame.. the marketing execs should figure it out by looking at the other players.. I am sure that half the Honda civics that were sold last year were by word of mouth by tuners or by people who saw a nice one (I know, that is rare) and though they could do it too.

I mean.. even Hyundai uses the Min Garage Kit in their ads in Sport Compact Car.

Hyundai Motorsports or Hyundai Racing Divison or

Hyundai Racing or Hyundai Performance

they have good sounding names but Hyundai won't do anything performance. so they dont have to take the 10 year, 100,000mile warranty away.

That warranty is probably getting dropped in the 2006 model year. Prices are slowly but surely closing the gap to the major import players on the tiburon (as far as MSRP goes), and somewhat with the elantra. The sonata and accent are just plain cheap still, lol.

Hyundai will probably start playing up Hyundai's racing heritage(?) in rally overseas, but unless rallying really takes off in the states we wont see that ad campaign here. Hyundai is dabbling in the performance industry more than they have in the past, so who knows.

Well I believe Hyundai is planning this. Check out their plans for the WRC. Subaru and Mitsubishi have Prodrive, STI, and Ralliart trespectively. With their plans right now, it appears their new R&D in Germany is the start of that. The R&D will be setting the standard for all Hyundai R&D's around the World. And if it competes, don't be surprised, but don't expect it for another 5-10 years...

They did start this in a minor way with the F2 & f2 Evo in the UK, but then had a minor falling out that turned in to a major one with MSD - See the rallying posts...
Rumour has it that they are going to start again with limited edition, higher performance versions of cars in the future... There is also the small case of Rally Homog rules that means at least 500 road going versions of the rally car have to be produced for Rally F1... which is where they are heading with the new team.... All sing 'Turbo Accent' together now
