Default Center Cap Security

Hey guys/gals....

I was just wondering if there's any type of security measure(s) or tool(s)/device(s) that are available to prevent center cap theft. I ask because last night I went out shopping and when I returned to my car, the guy who was parked next to me was freaking out! When I asked him what had happened he pointed to his rims. Somebody stole his rim's center caps. All of them.

This got me to thinking that somebody could rip mine off. Is there any way of preventing those center caps (perhaps some sort of a third party lock) from being removed?

Was it at the city centre lol?

Mine are siliconed in place, partially because the clips broke on some of them. If you take them off they're useless unless you glue them back on.

Mine are the same way. I don't think anyone would want to take Hyundai center caps that I put on the aftermarket wheels.

Default Yeah....

but some people (mostly idiot teens with nothing better to do) would steal them just for the sake of stealing them.

I don't want to end up like that poor guy in the parking lot.

Jed118 --- No, it wasn't at the city center. It was at the Brampton mall. But judging by your response, I guess this (having your center caps stolen) is more common than I originally thought.

I've had friends who's civic's mirrors, and once, a wheel, been removed from that parking lot. We found the civic wheel on an integra (we were 100% SURE it was his, cuz his name was engraved on the inner part of the rim) at Hype nightclub.

We shot baloons filled with DOT 3 brake fluid at his car... which leaked into the crevices of the engine bay, door seals, hatch... I got a couple under the car aswell... Mostly as much into the engine bay as possible.

That's all we did. Poor bastard, I wanted to see his reaction when he tried to wipe the fluid off... along with his paint.

We did not take the rim back, for my friend's civic was highly recognizable. The peeling paint in places that he wouldn't guess and the ensuing rust was well worht the expense of the rim (which we poured fluid on aswell)
