some said Hyundai daily check's out this website.. is it true?
some of the member's might be "spies" going over the posts..and possibly even denying warranty's because they see some of our cars at AutoX's and dragraces..
i just wanted to know if Hyundai Motor of America really listens' to the hyundai Enthusiast's..because all the car's they been spewing out like marbles over the past few months have been for the customer..the pampered
"i gottas have everything in my hyundai and it's gotta be easy to drive and easy everything"
when there was a extrme hype and demand for the accent SR..hyundai did it's usual and gave us an underpowered car becasue their principle root's are still "affordable & value"
I'm really hoping hyundai up's the ante and add's something exicting new to it's lineup of very boring & controversial styled bread and butter cars..
they say they improve the image of it's cars by upping the quality..
and i'm sure that from a company or a corporate or conglomerate who makes everything from ships to finance srvice's to consumer electronic goods
we can't expect Purebred performance engineering like Honda and nissan did
but i for once just want them to break the mold and break threough fromt he traditional hyundai behicle and come up with something exciting and really fun to drive..a car with real soul..put some more effort into your gearboxe's and steering..make something that will make a civic si driver feel like he want' to trade his honda
but back to the topic..i just want some assurance that we're being heard in the hyundai community.

i don't know about Hyundai coming here and reading these but remember there was talk about Hyundai and Kia doing the whole toyota/lexus, honda/acura thing? I think that would the the chance for hyundai to still have a line of cheap yet affordable cars and then a make of higher quality and performance. so sorry i can't answer your question but i'd love to see hyundai do just what you're asking.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they did. Surfing these forums is a very good way of getting valid ideas about what people expect from the product. However, when it comes to performance you also have to look at things from the manufacturer's perspective; putting out a high powered car that still deserves some manner of a warranty takes R&D dollars, and those dollars in the end get paid for through the base price of the car when it leaves the factory. If there aren't enough of those models sold, then the average joe ends up paying a portion of the R&D costs for our "performance" models, and that inheristed cost will steer people away from the "daily grind" models.
So, to validate any move towards a high performance Hyundai out of the box, there needs to be enough demand. If half the poeple on these boards decided that they wanted a RWD, turbocharged 4 in the Accent hatch body with a factory bodykit, sports suspension and a close-ratio 6sp transmission, the numbers would still be against us because of the R&D/increased production/tooling/re-tooling costs associated with supplying 18,652 of these vehicles to the enthusiast public. We as enthusiasts make up a ver small potion of overall sales, and hyundai's "affordable quality" stance has worked very well over the years.

I'm sure some people from Hyundai peruse the board, even if only informally. If not, then Hyundai really needs to hire new people because it's the most obvious resource for opinions from the enthusiast portion of their customers.
A lot of people on here basically do R&D for Hyundai. Finding things that work, and things that don't. Some of the projects here have little or no value to Hyundai, others are probably very useful to them.
I just want a freaking FWD Accent with the Theta in it. Or the Beta even, although that's old tech and hardly worth the time now. Either one + turbo would be even better, and differentiate Hyundai among the now crowded class of budget entry level vehicles. The Tiburon is also GROSSLY underpowered. I would already own a Tib if they put out 220+ hp. No other change required, just 220+ hp.
in other words..hyundai' offering's are boring as white paper, don't invent anything new and copy other manufacterer's designs..
they constantly brag about their quality improvement's when what we really want is a car that's fun to drive Like a civci si..while also being practical..
most of us were so sick of driving an underpowered accent that we succumbed to the SRT-4..which was a bold move from Dodge..a Turbocharged thrill ride at a great price..fun to drive and practical..
Doe's hyundai do such a thing? NO..Why? it doens't lie with their principle Purpose of making automobiles..it's korean, it's cheap, about as good as $2 for 5 pair's of sock's at wal-mart
even toyota did a smart move..stuff a 2.4L 164 HP camry engine in their newly designed tC when it was first out..and it's fast..
stuffing a MC accent with 16's aint' gonna cut it..nor is the overpriced "performance" accessories
hyundai doens't seem to understand that we're willing to pay a decent price for some car's worth of the import tuning scene..
some buy hyundai because it's different..not because it's cheap
which is the main reason hyundai skimp's on R&D
buying another hyundai in the future seem's bleak for me..as i'm afraid they'll add drive by wire and stupid acronym electronic system's on every model in their line-up..stuff we dont' even want..but to the pampered whining american yes!
one reason hyundai's car are slow is because of all the weight in the car..frills, unless necessities..the average demanding american consumer who want everything for lunch money!!

I in no way consider my Accent to be obese...haha. But seriously, how many 2200 lb. cars do you see on the road today? Almost none...except for our Accents.
