I agree, I know for a fact some of the Porshe test drivers changed what there stability control (PSM) stood for to Porshe Stupidity Management.

The other reason for ESC especially on cheaper cars is to make up for lowsy chassis and suspension design.

The 2007 HD Elantra has a VERY poorly designed suspension. I consider it flawed. My 2007 Elantra SE alignment cannot be adjusted beyond toe adjustments and the caster and camber on both front and rear is off by more than 1 degree.

I am working on a federal recall on all HD's.

I feel that the new elantra was rushed to production because of hyundai's program to churn out a new car every 6 month's..

Car and driver did a comparo of the 07 elantra to the sentra. civic, and mazda 3..
it came out last in 4th place..mostly because of it's handling and less than peppy engine..it's use of hard rough finished plastic's was also questionable

i think hyundai need's to stop fast forwarding all of their product's and put some passionate engineering rather than doing all of the research on the interior designs.

For XD and J2 Elantras, understeer can be corrected very easily by a 2003 Tib GT rear sway bar! :-)

And for ESC, it's nice in certain situations. It still doesn't make up for the fact that a lot of people don't want to learn how to drive proactively so they don't have to use the ESC. Every time they make cars more idiot-proof, the idiots evolve.
