Anybody else who drove around earlier today knew how terrible the weather was in winnipeg today. roads pure ice... visibility like... 0% at times
simply put, it stank... and what could be worse? My little Hyundai got called in to my delivery job... yay for delivering chinese food all night. My bald summer tires really made the night "fun" with 4 or 5 near accidents
the closest one was just driving at around 30kmh down some small residential street right behind a canadian tire. Visibility suddenly went to 0-ish% and i couldn't see any more than 10 feet in front of me.
suddenly there was a headlight coming close to my driver's side... ONE headlight.. so I tried to find the side of the road on my right side... couldn't find it... so I just hoped that it was the cars drivers side light... or a motorcycle
of course, it was some ignorant @$$hole who decides to have a burnt out headlight on his DRIVERS SIDE... I literally came within inches of the bastard, and I wanted to pull the e-brake, run back, and kick the sh*t out of him.... but I was working, so I had to keep my head focussed on getting those poor people their hot chinese food
one of our other drivers was nearly sandwiched by a truck sliding head on and a bit to the drivers side, and another car sliding towards his passenger door... he somehow managed to get out of the way.. and the other two cars collided
all of the 4 delivery guys (and girl) survived tonight... wish me luck tomorrow!
Anybody else have any near accidents?
and by the way... if anybody lives in St. Vital or St. Boniface... order 4 seasons tomorrow night! request delivery by Erik!! (me... obviously :sleepy
As for the weather, we left for Bemijgi Minnesota that friday during the day, and it started snowing like crazy at about 3 oclocl. It was a stupid white out and it was really slippery. I know the Peg got hit hard and it was really cold. I can feel ypur pain cause I have really bad tired also on my tire, and when I got back on saturday, it was slippery and almost hit a car as I slid through the red light (ST. Mary's and Bishop), not a cool corner to blow the light at. Needless to say that it was pretty freaky...............

nah, I live in St. Norbert, behindt he Mac's on Pembina, but I work downtown and my gf lives in Transcona, so I am driving around the city alot and I hit alot of different roads and intersections.
I REALLY hate the new lights they put up at that cult church on Lag, annoying I tell you.
This city is horribly built for roads and lights. Just not a smart design at all, but that is just my thought

Hey, I used to play in a band in St Norbert, and play hockey in Transcona all the time
that cult church is right by my house, you mean Springs Church right? I skateboard in their parking lot quite a bit during the summer
OH! AND I SWEAR TO GOD! One night, driving home from my girlfriend's house, I went by that church, and there were a bunch of people dressed in crazy gothic black clothing and they were all dancing around a huge fire in the parking lot...
I almost lost control of my car because I didn't know what to do after seeing that... and of course, the stupid lights there were red, and I didn't notice, and went right through the intersection... luckily nobody was around... at all... which makes me wonder why the hell the light was red in the first place at 3 in the morning
Winnipeg does suck... pot holes suck... if there weren't so many damn potholes, I'd have 17-inch rims RIGHT NOW... but I've seen civics with 17's just sparking along the road, on Lag even... still funny though
yea. there are some pretty sweet cars in this city but it's almost a waste to do too much cause the streets here are horrible. there are some streets, but the cops are always on or around them waiting.
It's funny buy every sunday night, there are people cruising up and down Regent. I mean, everyone knows it's Portage on sundays. They sit in the parking lot beside Robin's Doughnuts and look for cars. everytime I go to meet my gf at home, I always see them there. HAHA
I go to cruise night almost every sunday, get my stereo pumpin =) hehe
