Default Body Shop

So some idiot backs into me in the parking lot. You think it was nice and slow... I don't know if the guy was drinking or anything, but he did it pretty fast. Didn't catch the plates or anything.

My right headlight is bent, its like the entire front right corner has been pushed in from my car.. Turn light is fine; Headlight is pushed in, along with the surrounding hood area and body. The headlight attachment (where it bolts onto the Chassis) is broken; and the front bumper has a gash in it (I am thinking from a hitch).

Vehicle is still my dads. He doesn't want to pay for the damage, and he certianly doesn't want to deal with the insurance (its already at 5,000 --- car is worth about that). How much would it cost to get this small damage fixed. I'll post pictures tomorrow. Couple of hundred bucks, hopefully less!

Let me know. Hood needs straightening.. Bumper plastic needs to be fixed (I don't know if they use like... plastic filler or something like that, but that could be used) new right headlight assembly (or maybe the mounting bracket)

Thanks, Kevin

That sucks! I had the same thing happen in the service station parking lot at Newtonville (401 Eastbound). I was sitting in the car and laid on the horn when I saw her backing toward me. Luckily it was only a Corolla, and the damage was less.

The estimate on my car was about $300, but that was only to R&R the front bumper skin. If you source a used headlight yourself, you could probably save some coin. Get a couple of estimates, and ask about sourcing used parts.

Just today I ripped a strip off some lady in a Lumina for pulling in inches away from my Accent. I walked up to her and asked her how exactly I was supposed to load my daughter with her big POS parked at a 45 degree angle. She replied "I didn't know you had a baby in the car - I didn't see a sign!".

Try looking at wreckers to see if you can find the parts you need and fix it yourself.. that will run you a lot less then taking it to a body shop and at most have it painted unless you can find parts off a black car.. try www.car-parts.com
