Default Rust protection for Canadians????

Hi,

I've got a question for my fellow canuckers! I just bought a 2006 Hyundai Accent GLS and was wondering, who offers better rust protection? Now when I say "better rust protection" I'm talking about quality, not price.

I'm looking at two companies ;

1) Rust Check (www.rustcheck.com)
2) Krown Rust Control (www.krown.com)

Oddly I've dealt with BOTH companies before. They both seemed to do a good job, and charged about the same (give or take a few bucks). But despite my dealing with them, I sold my cars maybe two or three years after having them rust proofed from each organization, so unfortunately I never got to see the long term results with either car.

I was just wondering about anybody else's experience/s (long term) with either of these companies. And by "long term", I'm talking at least 6 years of having your car sprayed once annually.

I used rust check on my 87 Pony beater, and it very significantly slowed the rust. You have to reapply it every year, but I just buy a bunch of cans and do it myself now.

I will be using it on my "new" 87 Pony aswell, and my '84 before I store it for winter.

Well,

When hell freezes over I might look at that option. But for now, based on the feedback I've received from this site and another Hyundai-oriented website, I'll be going with Krown.

Thanks all.

How long do you keep your cars? I'm coming aroudn my 3rd year for my SUV, and 1st year for my accent. I don't usually keep a car past 3 years, and since Rust protection doesn't help with resale value why spend the money.

I usually keep my cars for a long time. Both of those cars that I mentioned above (one done by Krown and the other by Rust Check) were two weird cases where I couldn't resist selling them because I had two great offers made.

I normally buy a car, baby it and keep it for a long time (at least 6 years). But in any case as I mentioned earlier, based on the feedback I received from here I went with Krown.

Got my car done up just last week. 8D
