Re: Hyundai Sunday NEW EVENT INFORMATION! **VERY IMPORTANT**
As soon as I found out that Burlington Hyundai wasn't interested in hosting again I went to Hyundai of Oakville. The only magager on duty was Charles. I told him all about my problem and he told me he would have to contact the owner Matthew. After waiting over a week for an answer I went back in to see if he had made any progress. Charles actually forgot to contact Matthew. He appologised and said he would definately be contacting him ASAP. A couple of days later I went back in and Charles said that Matthew told him that it was OK by him so long as it didn't cost the dealership any money. I thought it was a little cheap but I was fine with it. So I began making all the neccessary arragnements. Over the course of a couple of months I was in and out of there all the time speaking to people about the event. I also offered to go to the dealership on the Saturday to help move cars out of the way.
On the Tuesday before Hyundai Sunday I dropped by just to make sure that everything was on track and to see what sort of door prizes you guys had come up with.
Charls was not there so I spoke to Eddie. Eddie acted like he had no clue about Hyundai Sunday or even that it was going to be that weekend. So he checked around to see if there was going to be any managers available to open the dealership on Sunday. We spoke to the parts Manager Barrie and he said that this was the first time he had heard about when and where it was going to be. I don't think you (Grimmy) lied to me in any way about approaching Barry about the parts but I think that somewhere or someone isn't being truthfull. I think that the Management forgot to make sure that one of them would be able to open the dealership and since they "only found out about it on the Tuesday" they weren't willing to make time for us on Sunday.
Eddie took my cell number and promised to get back to me. The next day he called me back and said "we are not willing to let you use our facility due to liability issues".
I couldn't believe my ears. How could you guys drop me five days before the event. I tried explaining thre were people coming from a very long way just to be here. It didn't seem to matter. That is when I went to Hutch's.
I am really hurt by this. I thought that the Hyundai of Oakville "family" extended to former employees too. I used to work there and left on really good terms. I wasn't going to go into this much detail but I did since you asked.:depressed:
Re: Hyundai Sunday NEW EVENT INFORMATION! **VERY IMPORTANT**
I was sitting with Graham in Charles' office waiting to hear about my lease buy-out, when Charles said "Matt said ok as long as it doesn't cost us anything" about Hyundai Sunday. They knew about it and okayed it in June/July. I think they just forgot to keep it on their schedule and then played dumb when the confirmations were happening.

well, as you know CM, I just work here (ie. I dont call the shots), and I would have liked to see HS continue at a venue, proper. Hopefully next year HS finds a good home.

I agree with agentmoo: Hutch's was a great place.
I might be able to convince the family to come down next year, since there's a waterpark like 2-3 mi away.
