True the SR in no sport model, More like a Styled Model if anything. But my thought on it is this. If these 500 SR's don't sell Hyundai will never look at doing somethign like this agian. Hense the same reason we buy $400 ECU remaps or $250 SAI. Some of us can build these for a lot less, some of us can't. I happen to be one of the lucky ones that do have some moneyto getthe high priced items. But if there isn't a demand for these parts they will never make a lot, nor will they ever get cheaper. I could have much easier bought a base Accent and did pretty much everything that done on the SR, but then it wouldn't be an SR, just a SR clone. I didn't nor would want to own a Toyota, nor a Honda. But I would buy a Hyundai. Hopefully with the success of the SR, Next year Hyundai will release some performance items for the cars Tib, Elantra, and Accent, Hell maybe for everything. But if we don't support them then we'll never see it and Hyundai will stay a low performer in the performance race.

But that's just my 50 cent thought. I bought it because I enjoy having somethign not many others have and then doing a little to make it that much better.

I'm Kinda with Jed118, I understand liking Accents and Hyundai's waranty but I could have spent $19000, a whole lot better, for instance:

Base Model Accent: around 13000(were on sale @ local dealer for like 10K last month)
Eibach Springs: 500 Through Hyundai Canada
AEM Intake: 300 through Hyundai Canada
Shark Racing Throttle Body: 250
New Exhaust and Headers: Probably under a Grand
New CD/MP3 Player, Components, amp and Subs: around 750
New Rims and Tires: around 750

Which would bring the Totall to around $16500, but hey to each his own, its a cool car but u basically paid double for everything just to have it done by Hyundai instead of doing it yourself.

Or:

-KYB shocks-struts (gotta put them together) $300
-CAI off eBay with decent cone filter - $80 (or go to muffler shop, have them bend 3.5 inch exhaust for you, paint it yourself, get a cone filter, well about $60)
-Mustang 4.6 - 5.0 TB with compatible TPS - $free if you can steal it, $30 otherwise and a bit of drill work to make it fit
-Exhaust, dunno about you, got my 4-1 headder from a Dodge Arrow $50 and piping for $4 (2.5) and muffler for $80
-Subs, so many possibilities (in my case, I have one for sale, not interested anymore)
-16" + 195/50R16 (used back) and 205/40R16 (new front) mercury cougar rims (needed repainting, $25 in materials and paint) total of about $400

Fuck I need to open up my own shop...

DUDE! I would kill for an SR... even for 19k... Did they stick with the 2.0 Idea? what size turbo is it? intercooler front mounted? sorry... I just really like the car lol...

Funny though... I beat a VW Golf tonight in my stock GS (07) (automatic) lol... they had 3 people in the car though...

I'd love to know where I can get all the parts to get my car to the SR level...
I plan on building the hell out of my car... its just the parts I need arent present.... ( I really want to get suspension to be godlike ) then I'm going to be custom piping a turbo... so the potential is there...

but congrats... I dont give a damn about haters... the SR is cool as hell (better than a new tiburon [runs almost 20k]) in my opinion anyways..

*Edit* I just finished reading the spec sheet... (Somewhat dissapointed) But like you said... if noone buys them, hyundai will never take a step like this again...

I live in the U.S. how can I get those parts?
