Change my oil? Well only if the oil was really bad, I mean like black and smelt burnt would it really effect your car that much. I change the oil every 3000 miles no matter what, I use oil castrol syntech full snythetic fluid. So to answer the, "change the oil" statement the answer is no, that wouldn't cause the engine to cut off at 120 mph. Thanks
Dont know, just a risk. Something out of daily life to shake things up I guess. I dont want to go faster i was just wondering if anyone has disconnected their vss and seen any difference.
The most common cut-off speed for the XD Elantra is around 114 mph. I believe there are two active things that are responsible for the shut down. Number one is a magnet sensor on the wheel that calculates by wheel RPM. I forget what the other is. The idea of cheating the governor has been discussed for well over a year now, and nobody on the boards has a proven answer.
