Change my oil? Well only if the oil was really bad, I mean like black and smelt burnt would it really effect your car that much. I change the oil every 3000 miles no matter what, I use oil castrol syntech full snythetic fluid. So to answer the, "change the oil" statement the answer is no, that wouldn't cause the engine to cut off at 120 mph. Thanks

got mine up to about 115+ mph.. no sign of slowing down. such a waste of rpms if the vss really shuts down speed

Oh yeah 115 mph strong, but when it hits like 119-120 it just shuts down and wont go any faster.

Dont know, just a risk. Something out of daily life to shake things up I guess. I dont want to go faster i was just wondering if anyone has disconnected their vss and seen any difference.

ok i was kidding. i got mine up to 185 mph. with just headers and an intake. nothing else. at all. yep. 185. :hmmm:aranoid:

Holy crap man, the land speed record for a civic on the salt flats is 180mph, you should enter your car and make the record books.

The most common cut-off speed for the XD Elantra is around 114 mph. I believe there are two active things that are responsible for the shut down. Number one is a magnet sensor on the wheel that calculates by wheel RPM. I forget what the other is. The idea of cheating the governor has been discussed for well over a year now, and nobody on the boards has a proven answer.
